Rear-end car accidents can be deadly, as shown in recent crash

There are many kinds of car accidents in Georgia, but some of the most dangerous and deadly are rear-end crashes. When a vehicle is traveling at significant speed and it crashes into the back of another vehicle, there can be serious injuries and fatalities. This is especially true when a larger vehicle causes the crash. These accidents frequently occur on highways, making speed and the sudden need to stop a factor.

According to a recent report, a rear-end accident on the interstate led to the death of a 13-year-old girl. The accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. when a tow truck that was in the process of hauling two other vehicles crashed into the rear of a van. There was a family in the van. Traffic had slowed and the tow truck could not stop in time. The van subsequently crashed into three other vehicles. At least six people were hospitalized. The people in the van were from Louisiana. The child was given CPR, was rushed to the hospital and was later declared dead. The investigation is continuing and it has not yet been determined if there will be charges.

An unexpected death is difficult enough without the fatality involving a child. For people who have lost a loved one in such an incident, there will be emotional and personal issues to navigate. That is before considering the other costs that accompany this level of motor vehicle crash. Although financial compensation may be the last thing on the mind of the family members, it can be necessary to consider litigation to cover funeral costs and at least give them something to help with moving on.

As law enforcement investigates this recent incident, it is essential for those who were hurt and the family of the girl who died to know the legal rights of victims after car accidents.
